Tasks & goals

Independent asset management remains a recognised business sector that generates substantial domestic added value. On the basis of the relevant EU directives, the activity of the independent asset manager is regulated by the Asset Management Act (Gesetz über die Vermögensverwaltung – “ VVG”) as well as by the associated Ordinance (“VVO”). Within this context, the Association’s paramount objective is to safeguard the interests of its members. Further tasks of the VuVL include in particular:
  • Protecting and promoting the reputation of independent asset managers in Liechtenstein and abroad
  • Issuing codes of professional conduct detailing the exercise of the profession within the framework of the Asset Management Act as well as safeguarding professional principles in the interest of promoting an honourable, professional and highly-esteemed profession
  • Encouraging dialogue and cooperation with politicians and public authorities as well as with comparable professional organisations in Liechtenstein and abroad
  • Representing the interests of its members and of the profession in general at the national and international level
  • Supporting its members in terms of professional as well as associated legal questions
  • Organising events for the purpose of exchanging information and networking as well as to promote the Association’s philosophy
  • Commitment to establishing high-quality, sector-specific training and further training for its members
